Yesterday was my first shopping day with Mr. EMS. First thing first, my $1330 Dameir LV bag ( purchased by Mr. Mob in 2007) had an unfortunate accident last year which resulted in a $424.61 bill to repair it. Now my babies I have a strict rule against spending my own money so it's been sitting there waiting for pick up for a while :(... that was our first stop. :)
Especially after my SB in training Camilla Chamoun got he first LV bag last week. I was soooo jealous.
Next on the list are clothes for my trip to Vegas with Mr. Blackcard, he has seen my whole closet by now and honestly speaking I think he might have purchased at least half of whats in there..with my SB friend going I have to look even hotter than she does...after all he is my SD.**big grin**
Down to SOHO we went, one of my favorite shopping neighborhoods.
Since he is still pretty new to me.....I still needed to feel out his shopping style so I know what stores to target..some guys are so picky about what they spend their money on.
OH BOY I thought....
I really hoped he didn't care my babies but sometimes thats how the cookie crumbles :/
I knew I had to approach this from a different angle.
Approach: I went into Top Shop, he was on my tail the whole way through looking at the prices of everything I picked up....I bought an outfit which came out to $120 which calmed his nerves, he actually said wow we're finished already, I smiled inside knowing then he was now comfortable. ** bigger grin**
From there we went into BEBE (one of my favorite non-designer stores btw)
I had them set up a fitting room for me while we walked though the store he hardly realized what was going on.... I kept talking to him about many random topics. Then I told him to sit and I went to try on a few things. I modeled a few for him ... which he liked very much. then came out and went straight to the register and handed them my Clubcard. The bill was about $500 he looked puzzled for a bit...I just smiled and started looking at other things saying things like "OMG how cute is this one" of course the sales associates encourage me big time.
Babies I have never seen an SD swipe his card so fast...lol
He wanted me out of there before I picked up more things.
I don't get the shopping mentality of men nor do I try, as Tim Gun would say I just "MAKE IT WORK" . After that I stopped off at the spa and got my bikini wax then went on my merry way to dinner with him.
A very profitable day my babies ....total sugar = $10345.62. < ha ha ! He sure acted like he was spending that amount.
Correction: Total Sugar: $1035.62

love your balls girl! i hate shopping with the SD intow to be honest. just give me the $$ and let me do my own thing haha x3
Here's why SD's don't like shopping... because it's unpredictable! :)
I know it might take away part of the fun and spontaneity of going shopping, but it would be better to discuss with your SD which stores you'd like to go to, what you'd like to shop for, and what range of spending he is comfortable with.
If you can agree on that before going shopping then you'll avoid the kind of awkward moments you described.
10k? In Bebe? You must have purchased the whole store ;)
wear your new purchases proudly
ps i hate shopping with an SD... well shopping in general*
*shoes does not constitute shopping
I agree with Sunshine! I much prefer to just get the cash and go on my own later...
But Fab Dionne!!!
Thanx Ladies, but if I have cash I am going to just save or pay bills with it...I actually prefer my sd to take me shopping...it's a spoiled feeling I can't give give myself.
@SD Guru: Women and men statistically don't have the same shopping mentality thats why we are the dominating force driving the fashion industry today. I don't ever know what stores I would like to go to, or what I'd like to shop for, and what range of spending he is comfortable with. I'm a woman!!!
That takes all the fun out of it.
Wow very nice.
I haven't gone shopping in 3 months.
I think you are super smart girl ;)
Uh...If I could find a guy like that it be sweet!
I agree men and women have very different mentality when it comes to shopping, and what I described can take the fun out of it.
OTOH, shouldn't the person who is picking up the shopping tab have some say on how his money is spent? :)
Thanks Sadie!!!!!! Muaaah babe.
@ SD Guru:
No, you don't have a say on how the money is spent. In a mutually beneficial arrangement your role is as a "sugar daddy" not her daddy, this is an "arrangement" not a marriage. It's supposed to be drama free which also mean you don't tell her what she should and should not be doing. Advice is always welcomed as mentoring when asked but as women shopping is our expertise...we don't need any "how-to's" on the act. Look at "Shopping" in an SB/SD relationship like a bonus that is giving to an employee for a job well done, it's an unspoken expectation of the SD when trying to keep the interest a woman 15-25 years younger than yourself.
As an SD your the one in control of your money, only you know what your disposable monthly income for this type of arrangement entails.
I've had an SD that took me shopping and spent 2k-5k without even blinking twice, because he could afford it. Mr. Mob use to go outside on his phone and then return only when it was time to pay....he used to say OK you have done enough damage, I'll smile and know that was enough shopping for the day.
Mr. Blackcard only takes me to outlets but he sends me pre paid gift cards to High End Stores...That's how he controls what he is willing to spend.
**Gift Cards** to stores are a great way to keep the interest of your SB and they give you total control over what you can afford to spend.
But believe me it is a BIG mistake to get a young woman or a woman of any age all excited about a "Shopping Day" and then start moaning and groaning at everything she picks up.
WHAT"S THE POINT...WE ARE WOMEN!!!!
You can't take a kid to a carnival and say to him or her they can only get on rides you what them to get on, CAN YOU? No they will cry and pout the whole day.
PS: I believe that's enough advice for this post, I usually charge..lol
Seriously I have a PAYPAL account. :D
@SD Guru, In response to:
"OTOH, shouldn't the person who is picking up the shopping tab have some say on how his money is spent? :)"
The "say how" is controlled by giving Gift Cards and Cash!!!
It's interesting how my comments about shopping can generate such passionate responses. I'm sure neither one of us is saying anything the other doesn't know already. So let's agree to disagree.
PS - I'll make sure I don't make my SB pout and cry like a kid next time! :)
Dionne, have you stop blogging for good. Please come back soon.
I will be back posting very soon, had to get my thoughts together for a bit. but yes lots to tell you.
